Machining in die manufacturing includes cutting, milling, grinding, grinding and so on. They are mainly used to complete the final processing of die auxiliary parts, as well as the pre-processing and final processing of die working parts. Suzhou Biaoxin Precision Co., Ltd. has sorted out the mechanical processing in the die for your reference.

1、Cutting and High Speed Milling Technology

Traditional cutting methods, such as turning, milling, planer, slotting, drilling and so on, are all used in die and mould processing without exception. High-speed milling is the most widely used technology in cutting technology at present. The tools used include end milling cutter with indexable inserts and ball end milling cutter. This kind of tool is most famous for Kennametal's products in the United States, and it is also used in our country.

In recent years, a research focus of die manufacturing technology is to further improve and promote the application of high-speed milling technology. High-speed milling has many advantages, such as low temperature rise, small cutting force, smooth processing, good processing quality, high processing efficiency (5-10 times higher) and machinable hard materials (< 60HRC), so it has been paid more and more attention in die and mould processing.

2、Grinding process

Forming grinding is a method of working surface finishing, which has the advantages of high precision and high efficiency. In die manufacturing, forming grinding is mainly used to finish punches, die blocks and electrodes for EDM. Forming grinding can be carried out on a form grinder or a surface grinder.

3、Grinding and Polishing

The machined workpiece surface, regardless of its roughness value, must be polished again. There are three methods for flattening rough surfaces: removing materials, reconfiguring materials and adding materials.

At present, the grinding and polishing of dies is still mainly manual polishing or manual polishing by means of electric or pneumatic equipment, which has low efficiency, high labor intensity and unstable quality. The traditional polishing method is to remove material from the side wall of the cavity to smooth the surface. Up to now, the finishing problem of die surface has not been solved well. About 90% of the die surface is mainly finished by mechanical processing method, which is a very important forming technology.
